Initializing Your RJUHSD Voice Mail


Use these instructions the first time you “initialize” your mailbox. These instructions will help guide you through the automated setup tutorial.

 

After you initialize your voicemail –or- if you are not automatically prompted by the tutorial the first time, use the instructions provided under the “setting up” section in the RJUHSD Voicemail Instructionsdocument previously sent out.

 

Step 1: Access Your Personal Mailbox

  • Press the message button  or dial 1111 (916-782-4884 from outside the district) from your phone

 

Step 2: Enter default passcode

  • At the prompt, enter the default Security Code (password/PIN) = 9876

 

Step 3: Personalize your mailbox

  • At the prompt to change Password, enter 8 then 7

  • Enter your new personal security code (password/PIN) followed by the # sign

 

 

Step 5: Record Your Message

 

  • At the prompt to change Greeting, enter 8 then 4

  • Record your message: (e.g. “You have reached the voicemail box of John Doe.  I am sorry I am unavailable to take your telephone call at this time.  Please leave your name, telephone number and a brief message and I will return your call as soon as possible.”)

  • Press # to stop recording.

  • At the prompt, Press 7 to review your message or 9 to accept.

                     ·  If you are satisfied, Press 9 to save

                     ·  If you wish to re-record, Press 3 then start over.  Repeat process until you are satisfied with your recorded name and press 9 to save

 

 

Step 4: Say Your First and Last Name

  • At the prompt to change Name, enter 8 then 6

                  ·  Say your first and last name (No other greeting, just your name)

                  ·  Press #  to stop recording

                  ·  At the prompt, Press 7 to review your message or 9 to accept.

              o  If you are satisfied, Press 9 to save

              o  If you wish to re-record, Press 3 then start over.  Repeat process until you are satisfied with your recorded name and press 9 to save.

 

 

Step 6: Exit the Process

 

  • Press * (may need to repeated) until the system says good-bye and disconnects.
