To send email in behalf of another email address requires a verification that one "owns" the email.  Then there needs to be a verification from said account. Finally, one will be able to send an email on behalf of said account. 


Set Up:

  1. Open Gmail.
  2. Click the Settings Gear and choose "Settings".
  3. Click the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Select "Add another email address that you own".
  5. Enter the account name and email address. Deselect “Treat as an alias”. Do not select 'Specify a different "reply-to" address', and all replies will be sent directly to your manager. Click "Next Step".
  6. Account holder will require to give permission to send in behalf of.  Ensure that the information on the screen is correct and click “send verification”.
  7. An email will be sent to the account holder.


Verify:

  1. The account holder will need to click on the verification link in the email that was sent.
  2. Or, the account holder will provide the verification code- enter it into the field and click 'Verify'. 

After Verification, one will now be able to send an email on behalf of said account.



To send an email on behalf of  said account:

  1. In the message, click the "From" line.
    (If you don't see this, click the space next to the recipient's email.)
  2. Select the address to send from.
  3. Compose and send the email.
